A Complete Guide on Getting Your Blog Indexed by Google within 24 Hours

A common problem faced by most of the bloggers is getting their blog indexed in Google or any other major search engines. If you’re blogging on Blogger-hosted blog, then you don’t have to worry about getting indexed in Google as all your entries or posts are shown in Google Search Results immediately at the instant time you hit the “Publish” button. But, it’s really frustrating for Self-hosted WordPress users and especially new blogger s who really have to do everything manually to be indexed in Google.
After creating your blog, just follow these simple steps and you’ll see your website in Search Engine Results within 24 hours for sure. (100% working)

Step #1: Install “All in One SEO pack plugin” for WordPress

This is the first thing that I’ve done immediately after migrating to WordPress. Installing the All in One SEO pack plugin. Although I do not have any basic knowledge/ experience of using WordPress before, I’ve read a lot of articles about the use of this great plugin which is really essential to every WordPress users. This plugin enables you to add post title, description, and keywords for every individual posts for better Search Engine Optimization ( SEO ) and hence maximizes the chances of getting organic traffic from Google very soon after blog being launched.

Step #2: Add your site to Google Webmasters Tools

Log into Google Webmasters Tools with your Google account and add your blog/site by clicking the ‘Add a site‘ button. Then, type the domain name you wish to add, and click ‘Continue‘. You will have to verify your site using a META Tag. Copy it go to your WordPress Dashboard > Plugins > and paste the META tag in the ‘Additional Home Headers‘ at the bottom and ‘Update‘ the info. Then, click ‘Verify‘ on Google Webmaster Tools and you are done.

Step #3: Submit your Sitemap to Google

Install Google XML Sitemaps plugin for WordPress. This plugin will generate a XML sitemap which you can submit to Google Webmasters Tools or any other search engines to better index your blog. Once you’ve activated it in your ‘Plugins‘ page, you’ll see a ‘XML-Sitemap‘ link under ‘Settings‘ menu. So, build your XML sitemap for the first time by clicking on “Rebuild Sitemap” button. So, your sitemap URL will be looking like this http://www.yourblogname.com/sitemap.xml or http://www.yourblogname.com/sitemap.xml.gz. So now, go to Google Webmasters > Site Configurations > Sitemaps > Click on ‘Add a sitemap‘ button. Now, type ‘sitemap.xml‘ in the text area box which comes after http://www.yourblogname.com/ and click “Submit” button. This great plugin will automatically update your sitemap every time you publish your post.

Step #4: Adding your site to Google Analytics

First, sign into Google Analytics using your Google Account. Then, you will have to add your Website’s URL, Contact information, accept User Agreements and finally you’ll be provided with a Tracking Code. Copy the code and go to WordPress Dashboard > Appearances > Editor > Footer.php and paste the code right above the tag. This step is important to track your visitors, traffic sources, page views and more.

Step #5: Site Stats and Valuation sites

This is another simplest way to tell to Google that you page does exist. Usually, most of us have come across site valuation sites which tells you “How Much Does Your Site Worth?” These sites already have good place/rankings in Google, Bing, Yahoo and other search engines. So, when you submit your site and check your site’s value there, it will automatically create a special page for your blog/website (like this, this and this ). Step #6: Social Networking and Bookmarking sites

Register an account with top Social Networking Sites such as Facebook ( Facebook fans page ), Twitter, Orkut and bookmarking sites such as StumbleUpon, Technorati, Digg, Delicious, and etc. As they have a good reputation in Google, they will make Googlebot to have a glance at your site. But, remember to use your site name like this www.facebook.com/yourblogname or twitter.com/yourblogname .

Step #7: Blog directories and communities

Add your blog to top directories such as Technorati, BlogCatalog, Bloggernity, GlobeofBlogs, Blogged, OnTopList and etc. This is the most easiest and effective way to get free quality back links from websites with higher Google page ranks.

Step #8: Link Exchanges

Link exchange is one of the ancient but effective way for people to get exposure to their website and get indexed. But usually, no body wants to exchange link with a blog with zero Google Page rank and no Alexa rank. Though, you can try to exchange link with your friends and peers who already have websites with good rankings or try free link exchange services such as Link Market where you can exchange links with other people.

Twitter

For Internet Explorer Users

* Install IE7Pro add-on and run Internet Explorer
* Goto Tools > IE7 Pro Preferences
* Select AdBlock under Modules and click on Ok.
* Restart the Internet Explorer and select IE7 Pro Preferences from the Tools menu.
* Go to AdBlocker from the list menu on the left
* In the Filter Type dropdown list, select Div Filter and click Add Filter.
* Paste “recommended_users” (no quotes) in the Rule line. Click Add
* Once again click on Add Filter.
* Paste “recommended-similar-users” (no quotes) in the Rule line. Click Add.
* Click Ok and refresh your Twitter page.
* No more “who to follow” suggestions!

For FireFox Users

* Install AdBlock Plus and open your Twitter page.
* Click on the arrow on the right of the AdBlock Icon and select Preferences from the dropdown list.
* Click Add Filter and paste this string: ##*#recommended-similar-users
* Once again click on Add Filter and paste this string: ##*#recommended_users
* Click OK and refresh your Twitter!

For Chromium (Linux) or Chrome (Windows) Users

* Install AdBlock
* Goto Extensions from the Tools menu
* Select AdBlock and goto its Options
* Goto Blacklist tab and edit it and add the 2 lines as below
* In Blacklist box, Add: twitter.com##div[id="recommended_users"]
* In Blacklist box, Add: twitter.com##div[id="recommended-similar-users"]
* Click on Save and you’re done!

Saving a Bookmark file in Internet Explorer

Internet Explorer

1. From the File menu, select the option Import and Export.

2. Select the option Export to a file and click on Next.

3. In the next screen select Favorites and click on Next.

4. In the next screen again click on Favorites and click on Next.

5. Now choose the destination where you want to save your bookmarks and click on Export.

6. In the next screen click on Finish.

Now you have successfully saved all your bookmarks in a .HTM file. You can use this file to later restore the bookmarks to either IE, Firefox or any other browser. To import the saved bookmarks from a file all you need to do is goto File menu, click on Import and Export, select the option Import from a file and proceed with the screen instructions.


Saving a Bookmark file in Firefox

Firefox

1. From the Bookmarks menu on the top select the option Organize Bookmarks.

2. A window will pop-up. From the window click on Import and Backup at the top and select the option Export HTML.

3. Now choose the destination where you want to save the bookmark file and click on Save.

To restore this saved file, follow the step-1 and in step-2 select the option Import HTML instead of Export HTML and proceed.


Saving a Bookmark file in Google Chrome

Google Chrome

1. From the Tools menu, select Bookmark Manager.

2. Click the Organize menu in the manager.

3. Select Export bookmarks.

4. Select the location where you want your exported file to be saved, then click Save.

To restore the bookmarks, follow step-1, step-2 and in step-3 select Import bookmarks instead of Export bookmarks and proceed.

Opera

Saving a Bookmark file in Opera

1. From the File menu, select the option Import and Export.

2. Scroll over to the pull-down menu on the right and choose Export Bookmarks as HTML.

3. On the next screen, choose the destination folder from the Save in menu text box at the top of the screen.

4. Just click the Save button and you’re done.

How to enable Offline Gmail

Offline Gmail is available to everyone who uses Gmail in US or UK English, so if you don’t see it under the Labs tab yet, it should be there soon. Once you see it, just follow these steps to get started:

1. Click Settings and click the Labs tab.
2. Select Enable next to Offline Gmail.
3. Click Save Changes.
4. After your browser reloads, you’ll see a new “Offline0.1″ link in the upper righthand corner of your account, next to your username. Click this link to start the offline set up process and download Gears if you don’t already have it.

When you hit save, Gmail will synchronize new messages you didn’t have downloaded before and remove the ones you’re not planning to read from your hard drive. You can always change your settings back to keep fewer or moremessages later on — fewer messages means Offline Gmail runs faster

That is, even when offline you can write an email and attach any file that when you have Internet access, the email will be sent automatically. To activate the new functionality, simply visit the Google Labs tab, select the Offline Gmail option, provided they had not previously checked, and save your changes. . Add Your Location Automatically to Your Gmail Signature

An exciting new feature has been added to Gmail Labs is “Location in Signature”. Just enable this lab feature and Gmail will automatically append your current location (the city and the country name) to your Gmail signature, like this:

Note that this feature uses public IP address to identify your current location, so it may be inaccurate sometimes or may slightly vary.



Here is the step by step procedure to turn on this feature-

1. Log into your Gmail inbox.
2. Go to Settings -> Labs and scroll down a bit to locate the “Location in Signature” feature.
3. Check the Enable radio button to enable this feature and click on save changes.

     4.  Now go to Settings -> General and go to the signature settings. Check Append your location.

That’s it. Now your signature will always contain your current location. As this feature uses your IP address, guess you must have understood how exactly this feature works. It tracks the location of your IP and appends the same location as your “location signature” and hence, as said earlier, your location may vary slightly.

Everyone should read this no matter how safe you think you are! As Google Account is a single account used across all Googles services like Gmail,orkut, Blogger, Adsense, Checkout. etc, it can turn out to be our worst nightmare if it gets hacked! Like many other online services Google tries to protect your account with secret question as well as optional secondary email address. #1.Trying "Forget Password" Option:
I know this will not work in most cases, as options like forget password rely on secondary email address and security question, both of which can be easily changed once a account gets hacked. • Details about Blogger account (if you use Blogger)

So I will suggest following things?

• Your goal should be to give Google maximum & accurate data! So take your time and submit form with maximum amount of information possible. You can consult your trusted friends if you are not sure. As an example it could be Vicky or Pankaj who invited you on orkut. If you are not sure call them up and ask it!
• Submit only one form! Yes this should be common sense. Do not submit multiple forms. A person who uses around 10-15 Google products asked me if he can submit multiple forms mentioning different Google products.
• Submit form from the place which you use most often to access your account like PC at home! Although they haven?t mentioned this explicitly, line above submit button says, "Please note that we need your IP address in order to resolve this issue.
